Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty cars have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Cars, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.
The fluid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they stated.
Police then found numerous other vandalized automobiles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement say initial examinations show the substance was likely blood from a person.
"At present there remains no clue as to where it came from; authorities are currently not informed of any harm in relation with the event," they stated.
Municipal representatives announced they were working "to unravel the case" and have requested to the community for information.
A senior political figure commented the attack made him stunned and needed to be addressed promptly.
"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, referring to the murder of nine victims by a gunman focusing on individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
